Degrees Pro Weather App Reviews

Pro? Eh, not so much.

A weather app which has the word, ‘Pro’ in it’s name should, at the very least, know the difference between Celsius and Fahrenheit. But sadly, it doesn’t, and this is why it reports local temps in the U.S. as 145˚ for example. Add in the now complete inability to launch/run, well, time to remove ‘Pro’ from the app’s name. Maybe, ‘Degrees Apprentice’? How about, ‘Degrees Intern’?

Worked great, and then it didnt

Giving this app one star at the moment because it just does not work any longger. Not sure what’s going on with the app or the developer. I genuinely liked the app when It worked. And it did work great for a while and then, with this last update, it just stopped working. In fact it did exactly the opposite of what the developer said he fixed in this release. When opening the app, it appears briefly in the menu bar then just quits unexpectadly.

Stopped working

I had the free version of this app, thought it was great, upgraded to Pro. It worked in the beginning, but now it quits on its own and I have to manually open it again… and then it just quits again later. What’s the point of having an app that’s supposed to show the temp in your menu bar if you have to manually go open the app? I want to just be able to glance up at menu bar… that’s why I got it in the first place. Edited to add: I contacted support, got no response. So I deleted the app and installed the free version of WeatherBug, which works perfectly. Save your money and skip this app.

Used to be great but now very inaccurate

Degrees Pro used to be great with pretty accurate reporting. Now it is so far off that it is a joke. During a week of snow/rain in Colorado, it was reporting temperatures of 100 degrees F for the entire week. Tried chaning location but still inaccurate. Tried contacting support but in several weeks no response at all. It is no longer reliable.

Not working - and no updates from the developers

This WAS an awesome, quick, convenient app. Then it started randomly closing itself. Now after a re-install, it won’t even show local temperature. Based on the surge of recent, negative reviews… have the developers just given up? (Apparent answer: Yes, since they also don’t respond to tech support requests).

Does not work

Never worked. I tried entering zip and using ‘discover autoamtically’ for zip. i never got 1 report of weather. on El Capitan.

Doesnt work

the app opens but will not find any location or show any weather. Apple needs to ban this trash.

Doesn’t work. No response from developer.

I’m currently running the latest El Capitan release, and it just does not seem to work. I recently purchsed Degrees Pro after reading about it on a blog. Don’t follow my footsteps. Thinking this would be a great little addition to my system, paid and downloaded it from the App Store. Installation went fine, runs in the Finder bar - but it just doesn’t work. It won’t display any temperature information and won’t detect a location. I deleted then reinstalled - still no joy. Users are able to contact the developer through the app - but there doesn’t seem to be any response.

I upgraded to a product that doesn’t work

I had the free Degrees app. Worked mostly great. Thought that 5-day forecast would be a nice treat for just a few bucks. And now, in my menu bar, I have a free version that is giving me a temp and current conditions, right next to dashes (indicating, I think, that the app doesn’t know where I am) that cost me $3. Refreshing, restarting, uninstalling and reinstalling - none of it works. Bummer to nearly literally (I know it’s not literal…but it’s close…) throw away money.

Either not accurate or not timely

App either does not update the temperature or is just plain inaccurate. It is worth a few clicks more to go to Weather Bug, weather.com or another program.

Worked Well, Then Stopped Completely…as did Customer Service

Downloaded the free version, and it worked great so I went for the Pro version. It worked for a couple of weeks and then, nothing. I have contacted customer service several times and haven’t received a reply whatsoever. Save your money and go for the Living Earth app. FAR, FAR, superior and reliable.

Doesn’t work.

This one and the free version are both broken. They don’t detect location, and if you provide a location they don’t retrieve the weather.

Used to be the best!

Degrees Pro used to be the best, but the developer has not change where he fetches the weather from. Yahoo! changed their api and the dev hasn’t updated ut yet. Once he does, this app will go up to five stars once again!

No Longer Works, No Response From Support!

I originally bought this app to use on an older Mac running OS 10.7. I recently got a new Mac and am currently running El Capitan - the app will install but crashes all the time to the point of not being able to use it at all. I went to the support site and sent them a message weeks ago, but still have received no response. The app has also not been updated in over a year, so I’m not sure what’s going on...

Doesnt work

I shouldve read the reviews on here. It simply doesnt work. No location information loads, so no weather info loads. Very disappointed. Feels like a waste of $3.

No longer works.

Update... stil doesnt work. Crashes several times a day. Unfortunately this app stopped working for me. Usually it crashes and I forget its not up and running. But even when I run it manually, the forecast is completely wrong. Like right now its 50 degrees out but Degrees Pro says its 109. And it doesnt update my location at all, doesnt seem to even try.

Broken on El Capitan, Silence from Developer

App does not work on El Capitan. Save your money. I’ve contacted the developer twice and no response. The feedback mechanism in their app is also broken and yields a “server error: not found” error. Total amateur hour and no excuse really considering they actually have a non-Pro version that works on El Capitan.

DOES NOT WORK!

Used the free version for years, decided to get the full version to see the 5 day forecast… DOES NOT WORK AT ALL! Can’t get ahold of the dev team to get it working. Please refund and have this verison pulled from the market.
